Mission 1 Debrief:

Objective: Infiltrate the salvaged pre-heresy relic (Gorgon Transport) and acquire any possible data that can identify further arecho-tech caches. Proceed to nearest site (if identified) and verify the accuracy of any data recovered.
Critical Parameter: See but remain unseen; All other forces must remain ignorant to your identity for now.
Optional Parameter: Targets of Opportunity; Orkoid leaders, Rebel leaders, enemy intel or communications.

Gorgon Class Transport:

The 3 man recon unit was deployed by a night drop into a coastal region currently occupied by the 1st Platoon of Chryos 13th Regiment's 1st Company. Access was gained via a coastal cliff face north of the Imperial position, and data was successfully extracted from the Gorgon class transport. Local imperial forces were made aware of the recon unit's presence, but their identity remained secure.

The recon unit then traveled NNE to an identified pre-heresy 'crash site' and were able to locate and confirm the presence of a Legion World Eaters boarding torpedo buried in the hillside. It is assumed from data retrieved that the relic missed it's intended target. All Legion Marines on board were found expired.

A rebel communications station was also discovered, and all attending rebel forces were engaged and dispatched. The communication equipment was both compex yet simple; a point-to-point LOS laser array. Hard to detect and almost impossible to intercept. This answers how the enemy are able to co-ordinate is secrecy.

The recon team established a sufficient subterfuge at the crash site and communications array so we could arrange for the Chryos forces in the are to 'discover' it.

The recon force then proceeded to ex-filtrate the area via aquatic craft.

HANDLER NOTES:
The performance of Scout Atash brings into doubt the effectiveness of, if any, wilderness training the Shadowed Suns provide. Having said this, his technical prowess, pre-heresy knowledge, and skills at war eclipses this completely. All the more since scout Atash has had no formal Mechanicus training.

Scout Lance, while his actions in the art of field craft and war were exemplary, is once again set for disciplinary duty for failing to maintain expected standards of war-gear maintenance and personal conduct.

Scout Tarsonis is operating within expectation. The Blood Ravens 10th company have one of the best training regimes within the Astartes, as evidenced by scout Tarsonis performance. Recommendation for officer training has been delivered.

The reputation of the Chryos Imperial Guard is not without merit. Their response to the infiltrators, one discovered, was exacting and excellent. It was only by the Emporer's gift of Astartes genetics that the data reclamation mission was successful, and scout Atash, Lance, and Tarsonis survived.
The 1st platoon 5th squad, and attached defenders are to be commended once this campaign is complete.

ADDENDUM 1: Scout lance appears to have considerable naval proficiency. Investigating this further.
ADDENDUM 2: Scout Atash displays behavioral oddities. Conferring with Chaplain Kathay for advice.

A copy of this report has been forwarded from Chapter Master Amari to Scout Master Jabari with the following brief comments added:

We need to provide our initiates with more planet-side training before we allow them out to any more of these joint missions. Ship-board training is all well and good, but it lacks the myriad random elements of being ground-side. I'll make some inquiries, but see if you can also find any locations nearby suitable for our needs.

That cursed ice ball we've been orbiting lately doesn't count.

A copy of this report has been forwarded from Brother Sargent Cyrus to Chaplain Kathay with the following brief comments added:

Neophyte Tarsonis progresses as expected. However, His actions in letting Neophyte Atash draw fire may have accomplished the mission, but contact should never have been made, and Tarsonus' abandoning of Atash is a blemish on his charachter thus far. He must learn to treat even new squad-mates as benefits a proper battle brother.

Leaving the Ork trail was ingenious, but we will see if the Guardsmen are yet fooled.

Based on reports, Orks do not just appear with that kind of Tech. They have a Benifactor. Imperial forces should be warned to Expect an Uprising, soon.
